Virginia Grace Setzer Williams, age 85, of Taylorsville passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Born June 23, 1927 to the late Clyde Henry Setzer, Sr. and Grace Walker Setzer, she was a graduate of Granite Falls High School. She had worked as a knitter at JP Stevens in Hickory and Aquatic Knits in Taylorsville. Virginia was a member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning and reading. She was an avid sports fan. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband - James Marvin Williams, Sr. and brother - "Hank" Clyde Henry Setzer, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons - James Marvin Williams, Jr. of Hickory and Gregory Haywood Williams (Hobbie) of Sumter, SC; daughter - Kaye Williams Frye (the late - Quez Frye) of Taylorsville; sisters - Margaret Starnes, Frances Martin, Betty Hayes and Joann Clark; grandchildren - Linda Bowman Murray, Jennifer Frye Hefner, Melissa Frye Barnette, Robert Henry Frye, Virginia Williams Trice, Elizabeth Williams Hall, Colby Jacob Williams and Casey James Williams; step-grandchildren - Quez Maloy Frye, Jr., Annette Frye Kiser and Beverly Renae Frye; as well as a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, and a memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Catawba Hospice @ 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC  28658 or Mountain Ridge Baptist Church - Building Fund @ 1952 Mtn. Ridge Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC  28681.
