Virginia Childers James,

Virginia "Marie" Childers James, age 87, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Taylorsville House. Marie was the daughter of the late Charlie O. and Essie Chapman Childers. She was born on Friday, October 26, 1928 in Alexander county. Marie was employed as a finisher for Lexington Furniture Manufacturing. Marie was an avid reader,  loved to cook, help other people when she could, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents Marie was preceded in death by her loving husbands; Edward Luther Moss & Emery Junior James, and ten brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children; Danny R. Moss and wife Louellen of Salisbury, Brenda Slaughter of Taylorsville, grandchildren; Kimberly Deese of China Grove, Heather Moss, David Moss both of Harrisburg, Michael Troutman of Sunset Beach, NC, Justin Troutman of Tracy, CA, one sister Helen Mecimore, nineteen great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00-7:30 pm. The funeral service will follow in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 7:30 pm. The Rev. Jeff Chapman and Rev. Steve Holshouser will be officiating the service. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Memorial Park 1307 Old Hwy 64 W; Lexington, NC 27295 Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am. The family wishes to thank Taylorsville House for their excellent care of Marie.
