Wade "Lynn" Brown,

Wade Lynn Brown, age 75, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, February 5th, 2012 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born on October 17th, 1936, to the late Jessie Lynn and Ola Smith Brown in Alexander County. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army.  Wade was retired from Champion/Waldorf Corp in Taylorsville where he served as their corporation pilot. Known as “Lynn” to many of his school mates, he was well known as a pilot in the Taylorville Region, and was an active member of DAV Post 84. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a member of the Taylorsville Flying Club.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Wilkerson Brown; one brother, Samuel Brown; and an infant sister.  Wade is survived by one son, Jeffrey Lynn Brown and wife Joan; one daughter, Sonya Dawn Echerd and husband James; - all of Taylorsville. He has one sister, Rita Brown Mash and husband Carl of Taylorsville;  3 grandchildren: Brandon Echerd, Heather Brown, and Katherine Echerd Stroud and husband Samuel; and one unborn great-grandson. There are two-step granddaughters: Sheree Fox and husband Jonathan, and Jennifer Smart and husband Adam; 5 step-great-grandchildren: Kaslyn McMann, Cameron Smart, Lilly Smart, Christian Fox, Novia Fox; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Brown. Wade had a very special friend and companion, Casino Bentley. There are a number of nieces and nephews, along with a host of close friends and flying buddies.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 9th, at Macedonia Baptist Church on 16 South, from noon - 2:00 p.m.  with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dan Spears and Rev. Gary Jennings will officiate. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery  in Stony Point with Rev. Mark Robinette and Rev. Mitchell Rash.  DAV Post 84 will render military honors at the graveside.  Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Children’s Hospital @ 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL. 33607.
