Wade Pender Caldwell,

Wade Pender Caldwell, age 81, of Taylorsville passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at his home. Wade was a member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville for  the last 56 years where he had served as a deacon and on the communion committee. He was a past member of the Taylorsville Rotary Club. His favorite place to go was  camping at Myrtle Beach, SC. Wade served in the US Army during the Korean War. Preceding him in death are his parents: Pender Sion & Enna Annie Caldwell; grandson, Jason Lynn Caldwell and sister, Betty Irene Caldwell Benfield. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; Bobbie Jean Deal Caldwell of the home; 2 sons: Michael Wade Caldwell of Taylorsville & Bradford Lee Caldwell of Taylorsville; 3 grandchildren: Brandon Michael Pennell, Landon Parks Caldwell, Emily Brooke Caldwell & fiancée Travis Yoder, all of Taylorsville; 11 nieces & nephews, 14 great nieces & nephews & 2 great-great nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville and service will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dan Redding, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Serving as Pallbearers are the First Baptist Church Deacons and Honorary Pallbearers are the First Baptist Church Fellowship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church @ Po Box 305, Taylorsville, NC 28681 or to Hospice of Alexander County @ 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
