Wanda Moretz Staley

Wanda Jean Moretz Staley, age 73, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, in Catawba County. Ms. Staley was born to the late Howard Webster Moretz and Francis Deloris Hill Moretz on February 20, 1949, in Catawba County. Wanda was of the Christian faith. Ms. Staley enjoyed watching soap operas. She was a people person that loved going to Love Valley and riding horses.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie Punch, and brother, Sonny Moretz.

Those left to cherish the memories of Wanda include her daughter, Amberley Punch, son, Alex Flowers and fiancé Alissa Griggs, grandchildren, Bradley Punch, Chris Punch, Stone Dula, Nathan Fesperman, Wanda Brooke Watkins, Morgan Deanne Long, great-grandchildren, Mason Long, Calum Long, Blayze Parker, Kayden Stamey, Sofie Collins, brothers, Larry Moretz (Diane), and Wayne Moretz.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 3:00 pm. Rev. Paul Schronce will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
