Wayne David Johnson

Wayne David Johnson, age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in Wilkes County at the age of 82. He was born on Tuesday, February 17, 1942, in Alexander County.

Wayne was known for his love of spending quality time with his family, particularly cherishing Sunday dinners together. His fond memories with his loved ones will forever be held close to their hearts.

In his leisure time, Wayne indulged in watching Tarheels and NASCAR, finding joy and relaxation in following these passions.

Wayne is survived by his son, Jimmy Johnson, his grandson, Josh Johnson (Amanda), and his great-granddaughters, Candence, Leah, and Finley Johnson. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill Johnson (Jeanette) and Larry Johnson (Peggy), as well as his sisters, Linda Smith and Brenda Jones (Rick).

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Annie Stine Johnson, his brother Harold Johnson, and his sisters, Hilda Motsinger and Phyllis Harpe (Harold).

A visitation to honor Wayne's life will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The family will accept flowers.
