Wilbern Emerson Warren,

Wilbern Emerson Warren, age 77, of Hiddenite passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born August 15, 1935 to the late Lonnie Wilbern and Mary Iva Payne Warren. He was retired from Gordon Furniture and enjoyed working in the garden and tending to the yard. Wilbern was a member of Unity Christian Church in Stony Point, where he served as a deacon. Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters - Hestah King and Jessie Sigmon. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years - Claira St.Clair Warren of the home; sons - Michael Warren (Sheila) of Advance, NC and Ken Warren (Sheila) of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren - Amanda Warren of Pasadena, CA and Christopher Warren of Wilmington, NC and sister - Regina Bost of Statesville.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm at Unity Christian Church in Stony Point and service will begin at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Scott Hammer officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Boyd Glenn, Timmy Stikeleather, Christopher Warren, Curtis St.Clair, Don Mason and Everett Wike.
