William "Bill" Bryne Lilly, age 73, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015, in Gordon Hospice House. Bill was born to the late Jennings Bryne and Eva Opal Adkins Lilly, on September 21, 1942, in Raleigh Co. WVA. He was a supervisor for Schneider Mills in Taylorsville. Bill will be remembered as a "pedler" and all around handy man, displaying his love for his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy Williams Lilly as well as four sisters and five brothers. He also was preceded by a granddaughter, Summer.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth P. Lilly of the home, a son Bryne Lilly and wife Lisa of Rock Hill, S.C.; a daughter, Dina Herman and husband Eric of Taylorsville. Two stepchildren, Walter Hartness and Phyllis Greene, all of Rock Hill. Bill has four grand children, Ashley Nicole Huddleson, of Rock Hill and Jarrett, Jacob, and Katelynn Herman, all of Taylorsville, He also has three great grandchildren and three step grand children. He has two brothers, Darrell Lilly of Bluefield, WVA. and Jerry Lilly of Ionia, Mich.
A special tribute to all of his caregivers, Brenda Stikeleather, Peggy Johnson, Kay Ashley, and Lynn Rogers and a special sister in law Diane and husband Ted. He had special friends, Marty and Denise Johnson. He has a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November, 27, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, with services on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Samuel Jordan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Zeigler, Mike Ellis, Robert Plante, Dillion, Alex, and Frankie Tedder.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd. Statesville, NC 28677 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 2994, Hickory, NC 28601.
