William Dale Pennell,

William Dale Pennell, age 71, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.  He was born in Alexander County on December 6th, 1939 to parents Clyde and Evelena Herman Pennell.  William owned and operated his own garage and worked as a mechanic.  He attended Little River Baptist Church.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Pennell; and his sister, Wanda Sigmon.  Those left to cherish his memory are his life-long partner, Shirley R. Brown of Taylorsville; brothers: Ned W. Pennell of Taylorsville, and Paul D. Pennell of Cary; and his sister, Iran Warren & husband Ray of Hiddenite.  Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th, 2011, with the funeral service to follow at 2:30, at Little River Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective residences at times other than prior to the visitation. Derek Fox, Peanut White, Merrill Moose, Rick Brown, Shawn Brown, and Ronnie Brown will serve as pallbearers.   Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
