William Ervin Kilby , age 90, of Taylorsville, passed away at Valley Nursing Center on Thursday, December 17, 2015. He was the son of the late John Wilbur and Mary Elizabeth Griffin Kilby. Mr. Kilby was born on June 13, 1925 in Wilkes County. He was a member of Little River Baptist. He was employed as a truck driver at Estes for 30 years, Champion Paper, and Fredrickson Transport. Mr. Kilby enjoyed gospel music, hiking the mountains, and traveling. He loved nothing more than his family and no one came before them.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Woodruff Kilby, four sisters, and three brothers.
He is survived by three daughters; Angela Montieth of Taylorsville, Carla Smith and husband Jason of Asheville, & Christie Hutton and husband Dave of Thomasville, seven grandchildren; Joshua & Makayla Montieth, Robert Shook, Brandy Haigler, Ashley Rogers, Misty Tranthan, Fletcher Hutton, & Taylor Hutton, one sister Louise Fespermin of Alaska, a special friend & roommate Jerry Wallace of Valley Nursing Center, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2015 from 12:30-2:00 pm at Little River Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Jeff Chapman and Rev. Buster Treadway will be officiating the service. Burial will take place at Northside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that in addition to flowers memorials be made to Little River Baptist Church, 2070 Little River Rd; Taylorsville, NC 28681
