William Kent Bowles,

William Kent Bowles, age 82, passed away in FryeRegionalMedicalCenteron Thursday, September 1st, 2011.   He was born on May, 22, 1929 to the late Harlan Glenn and Mayzo Edith Clanton Bowles inAlexanderCounty.  He was a self-employed pattern maker and involved in the church ministries ofEastTaylorsvilleBaptistChurch.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Carson Bowles; 3 brothers: Alton, Jerry, and Harvey Glenn Bowles; one daughter, Carolyn Bowles; one nephew, Tommy Ray Bowles Jr.; one sister-in-law, Sue Bowles; and one son-in-law, Dwight Terlingen.  Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Joey David Bowles and wife Shirley of Statesville; 2 daughters: Barbara Abushakra and husband Mike of Calabash, and Donna Terlingen of Charlotte. 1 brother: Tommy Bowles and wife Belle of Statesville. 6 grandchildren: Josh Bowles and wife Nadine of Iowa, Michael Abushakra and wife Kim of Calabash, Daniel Abushakra of Ocean Isle, Sarah Abushakra of Athens, GA, Sandy Auton and husband Kris of Taylorsville, Miranda Haynes and husband Ben of Lincolnton, and 6 great-grandchildren: Sydney and Andrew Auton, Madison, Kayne, and Samuel Haynes, and Benjamin Carson Bowles.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 atEastTaylorsvilleBaptistChurch from 10:30 a.m. -12:00 noon.  Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church where Rev. Jamie Steele and Rev. Josh Bowles will officiate.  Burial will follow in Linney’sGroveBaptistChurchCemetery.  Michael and Daniel Abushakra, Ben Haynes, Kris Auton, Josh Bowles, and Matt Johnson will serve as pallbearers.  Memorials may be made to East Taylorsville Baptist Church Building Fund @ PO Box 906, Taylorsville, 28681.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral Service.
