Willie Ray Bentley, age 72, of Taylorsville, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 16, 2015, following a period of declining health. Born to Luda Bentley, on March 14, 1943 in Alexander County, he was employed by Sipes Lumber of Taylorsville. Willie was a member of Mtn. Ridge Baptist Church. He was a hard worker who took pride in what he did.
In addition to his Mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gracie Mae Bentley.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 very happy years, Virginia Bentley, of the home, daughters Peggy, and Pamela of Taylorsville, as well as sons: Willie Dean Bentley, of Taylorsville and Daniel Wayne Bentley, of Morganton, and one Grandson Kaleb Bentley of Taylorsville, one Brother Grady Bentley of Taylorsville. He has a niece Monika Nance of Taylorsville.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May, 18, 2015 at Mtn. Ridge Baptist Church from 12:30-2:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 2 pm. The Rev. Mark Adams will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
