Wilma Dean Millsaps Speaks, age 86, of Taylorsville left this world for her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She came into this world on December 7, 1930 in Alexander County to the late Garfield and Sarah Linney Millsaps. Wilma was a member at Smith Grove Baptist Church and joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she sung in the senior choir and served on the usher board. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She will forever be missed, but will always be in our hearts. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Wayne Speaks; brothers: Joby, Aaron "Bud", Cecil, Rev. Mack, and Billy M. Millsaps; and sisters: Ada, Pearlie, and Francis Millsaps. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda S. Knox, Barbara Gail Parsons, Randy Speaks (Elcheva), Bradley Speaks, Paulette S. Little and Dominique Speaks; daughter-in-law: Ella Speaks; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Rachel & Barbara Millsaps; a special niece: Geraldine; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The wake for Mrs. Wilma will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Smith Grove Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. William Little officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
