Winnie "Aileen" Starnes Isenhour, age 98, passed away at Trinity Village on Thursday, February 25, 2016. She was born to the late Charlie Leroy and Hettie Little Starnes on December 23, 1917 in Alexander County. Aileen was a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. She loved her family and was a great mother & grandmother. She stayed in touch with her entire extended family. Aileen enjoyed cooking and was an avid TV fan. Before her retirement Aileen was employed as a waitress at the Starlite Cafe and Main Street Cafe.
In addition to her parents Aileen was preceded in death by her husband Kessel D. Isenhour, thirteen siblings: Ray Starnes, Carrie Wilson, Viola Correll, Roscoe Starnes, Guy Starnes, Grace Shull, Glen Starnes, Hazel Starnes, Gladys Katzenberger, Paul Starnes, Daniel Starnes, Leroy "LC" Starnes, and Oneida Hefner; and a special nephew Arnold Starnes.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children: Joyce Hinceman & Jane Clark both of Taylorsville; three grandsons: Darin Moretz of Lenoir, Garrett & wife Julie Moretz, Colby & wife Caitlin Clark both of Mooresville; three great grandchildren: Kessell, Caleb, & Noah Moretz all of Mooresville, Cannon Clark who is due in late April, and a host of nieces, nephews, and all special family both immediate & extended whom she loved deeply.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 1:30-3:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held following visitation at 4:00 pm in the Friendship Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Rev. Gary W. Jennings and Rev. Mark Marshall will be officiating. Pallbearers include: Darin Moretz, Garrett Moretz, Colby Clark, Randy Gilleland, Kenny Bowman, & Herman Caulder; Honorary pallbearers include: Kessell Moretz, Caleb Moretz, & Noah Moretz.
