Our History
Alexander Funeral Service was founded in 1996 at the prompting of local Alexander County residents to provide the people of Alexander County and the surrounding area with the best in funeral service. In this day and time it is not easy to find a group of individuals getting involved in business practices for the welfare of others. Our Board of Directors is made up of seven individuals with their drive for success in this business venture being focused on other individuals and the local community rather than on being lucrative entrepreneurs. With over 150 years of collective experience, our staff can meet the needs of every family we serve. We guarantee the most sensitive and caring service available.

To provide the people of Alexander, Wilkes, Caldwell, Iredell and Catawba Counties with the best in Funeral service and to do so with a highly trained, motivated and properly rewarded staff of professionals at substantial savings to the families we serve.
Our Valued Staff
In Loving Memory of Rev. Gary Jennings, who passed away on January 10, 2021. His service to the funeral home and our community will forever be in our hearts. And we as a funeral home will continue to uphold the same service that he provided to our families that we serve.
The grandson of Rev. Gary Jennings. He has worked under his grandfather for a number of years and will continue serving our community and families with the same care and compassion. Rhett is a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church, married to Rachel Cash Miller, graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Fayetteville Tech, serves on the executive board of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association, and serves as a Rotarian in Taylorsville.
Becky joined the staff in 2022, she is a native of Ashe County and currently resides in North Wilkesboro N.C.. She has two children Whitney and Katie, and a granddaughter Bristol. She graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1987. Later graduated from Wilkes Community College and Beauty College in 1988. Then graduated from Fayetteville Tech in 2018 with an associated in Applied Science. She is a licensed cosmetologist. A member of White Plains Baptist Church.
Jamie joined the staff in April 2022. Prior to joining Alexander Funeral Service she worked for Alexander County Schools for 23 years. She attends Taylorsville Church of God. Jamie is married to Mack Campbell and has three daughters, Larissa, Heidi, and Emma.
Andrew is the Pastor of Rocky Hill Baptist Church, has a Bachelors degree from South Eastern Baptist Theological Seminar, and is seeking a Masters Degree of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminar, is married to Lauren Milstead Sharpe, and has a daughter, Annaleigh.
Paul is the pastor of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and has been serving as the chaplain for Alexander Funeral Service since 2020.
Barry is a member of Liledoun Baptist Church, retired from Mitchell Gold after 21 years with 49 years in the furniture industry, married to Tammy Loudermelk Norton, and has worked at Alexander Funeral Service since 2019.
Sandy is a member of Crosspoint Church, Network admin at Taylorsville Elementary for thirteen years, retired from being an Owner of Peebles IT, Associates degree in Computer Networking from CVCC, and has worked at Alexander Funeral Service since 1999.
Terry is a member and the choir leader at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, graduated Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Admin, retired from Computer Consulting after 40 plus years, and has worked at Alexander Funeral Service since 2017.
Steve is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in N. Wilkesboro, retired from Alexlee after 24 years, worked with Nabisco for 5 years, and has worked at Alexander Funeral Service since 2016.
Mike is attending St. Luke Lutheran Church, graduated form AOMP at NC State University, retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, and has been working at Alexander Funeral Service since 2020.
Tristan is a retired Paratrooper Combat Veteran from the United States Army, married to Kasey Wells St. Clair, has two children, and been working at Alexander Funeral Service since 2019.
Jordan has been working at Alexander Funeral Service for two years. Jordan attends Crosspoint Church, he is married with two children and works full-time at WestRock in Conover.
Gary is a member of Liledoun Baptist Church, graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Masters Degree in social work, retired from Alexander County Social Service, then worked five years as a Hospice Social Worker doing grief counseling, and has worked at Alexander Funeral Service since 2018.
Lynn is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a retired certified Pharmacy Technician after 45 years, married to Dave Zeiger, and has worked for Alexander Funeral Service since 2022.
